3DA: How did you start working in 3D field? How much time has been passed and what kind of studies did you do?
AC: I started working in the Project area around 22 years ago and in 3D with “3D Studio Max”, perhaps 18/19 years ago still on the old “DOS” system, and I kept evolving until the appearance of the first versions of “3D Studio Viz”. Later on, related to the need to have other responsibilities/roles at work (for my regret) I was forced to stop using 3D. On my nowadays area, “Office Furniture”, generally, the speed of market/customer urgency is not consistent with the time needed to do something in 3D, only if the projects are very important and if they justify the effort!
3DA: Which are your favourite software and plugins for your daily projects?
AC: Currently I use SketchUP and Vray as render engine, and countless “plugins” that normally I download from the SketchUcation community (which I am very thankful). They are so many that it would not be fair to list them all. Nevertheless, because evolution demand requires it, I am thinking on a short time period to migrate/return to 3ds Max.
3DA: Tell us something about a project that gave you great satisfactions
AC: Definitely the “last one”. I try that all my projects, regardless of its size or origin, maybe the best that I can assure. I try not to make distinctions but, to add them value. Some give me more satisfaction than others, that’s for sure, but as soon as a new project appears it becomes my main focus. Lately, I’ve taken into great pleasure doing things as some listed in my gallery, that normally I do not do in everyday work, especially for being free from the normal constraints of our customers.
3DA: From where do you take inspiration for your artworks?
AC: From excellent examples given by: Bertrand Benoit, Ramon Zancanaro, Peter Guthrie, Matheus Passos, Alex Roman, Virgo Oktaviano among many others. And because the community of artists with the so-called “globalization” turns out to be closer, the majority of all of the guests interviewed by “3darchitettura” such as those mentioned above, are also “my inspiration”! However my inspiration also attaches itself to some 3D Facebook communities and blogs that I daily attend to.
3DA: How do you live this period of economic crisis? How is it in your country?
AC: We are all aware that crisis exists! And that it is making a severe “purge”, both on a professional and on a social field, but because it was not originated by us (as individual workers), the best way to keep going (in my opinion) is not to lose focus and try to overcome ourselves each day.
3DA: What would you suggest to people that are approaching to 3D and architecture?
AC: Discover what you like to do and “put all your effort on it”, no one can guarantee that it will be easy or successful, but by doing what you like, in most of the cases, you don’t feel like a need but something you appreciate doing!
