3DA: How did you start working in 3D field? How much time has passed and what kind of studies did you do?
ZM: I graduated as an architectural student in a local university. I started as a 3D designer in an Architectural Company in Kuala Lumpur about 7 years ago. At that time I was using only SketchUp as my main software to design and along the way I started to admire my fellow office mate’s rendering works but I was too busy in designing and never had a chance to learn. Only just about a year ago I started to involve in renderings & 3D visualizing including animations in my new office. I’m really new to this business but my eagerness to learn and improve brought me to what i had imagined I could do. Until now, I never stop learning.

3DA: Which are your favourite software and plugins for your daily projects?
ZM: Still using SketchUp in modelling, 3dsMax to compose for renderings and definitely Vray as render engine. I also love using multiscatter and multipainter beside proxy developing the environment. I also using Lumion as my animation software.

3DA: Tell us something about a project that gave you great satisfactions
ZM: Every project gives a different satisfaction, it’s a challenge to me to learn and at the same time to give the best result I can along the way. My works are not as good as others’ but I do work hard to be better. Working hard gives me a lot of satisfaction.

3DA: From where do you take inspiration for your artworks?
ZM: I get a lot of inspirations and knowledge from the internet actually. Forum in Facebook especially T.O.N.E are my main source of reference everyday same goes as Ronen Bekerman, Vray world, Vray Workshop, Vray Light, they all are my source of inspirations, nevertheless I also had a great admirations towards artist like Betrand Benoit, Peter Guthrie, Alex Roman, Sergio Mereces, Matheus Passos, Vasilis Koutlis, Victor Bonafonte Morales, Cheol-Min Kim and lots more to mention.They were all my references.

3DA: How do you live this period of economic crisis? How is it in your country?
ZM: I live in Malaysia, and there is no big crisis impact to my country as for now. But who knows what happens in the future and we still need to be prepared.

3DA: What would you suggest to people that are approaching to 3D and architecture?
ZM: Never stop learning and never ever give up because it’s a part of learning process to do mistake. Trust yourself and try to outdo yourself, with that you can push the limit more than you ever imagine on what you can do.
